My lovies

As a child I fantasized about eating all the cake batter I wanted, drinking all the Coke I wanted, owning as many books as I could afford, among other things.

Is there anything that when you were a child you wanted so much you couldn't wait to be a grown-up to get it?
I do eat the cake batter, even if it has raw eggs--especially if it does. Even though I remember how delicious a Coke in a glass bottle is, I can't drink it, for the life of me! Too sweet! Too bubbly! But I could, if I wanted to. If I make myself drink a Coke, I can do it.
I have a compulsive book-buying disorder. Ask Jeff about it. I relish the sight of books, the smell of them, the feeling of pages on my fingers. Even the cheap mass market kind of pages. I love them all. (Today Smith's was having a buy 2 get one free sale, FYI.)
But the one thing I wanted as a child was a pair of Reebok high top sneakers. And I got them today! Skinny jeans are in, so this must mean all things ninety are in too. Right?
Aren't they lovely? My poor husband is horrified, but they're the most wonderful pair of shoes I've ever owned.

  1. so awesome for you! mine was the rainbow brite doll that i ended up buying on ebay last month. and i always told my mom we should have six kids in our family instead of just five. i begged her to have one more. she said, "you can have six kids when you have your family, but ours is stopping at five." so i always looked forward to when i could be a mom and decide how many kids would be in my family. now we're not done yet with only two, but i can see why six just wasn't the number for her. i don't think it's even the number for me now, either...

  2. I wore skinny jeans and high tops in the 80's :) I always wanted the white Nike shoes with a big red swoop.

  3. They are so cute! Congrat on the Reebok! I wore skinny jeans when I was a teen. I don't think they'd look as flattering today as they did then. =)

  5. This was too funny!

My daughter, just as much as I, enjoys the cake batter too! I have always been crazy about coke but after years of extra pasta, too much rice & cake batter, I'm now a diabetic so I am unable to indulge in Coke the way I once did.... Gracias a Dios for Coke Zero! :)

Sweet-tooth aside, I drive My Wife nuts with My obsession over books too! Tho' while Ur favorite time of the year may be around Halloween, Mine begins just after El Dia de Los Muertos & to commemorate it, I have purchased a collection of Charles Dickens works...primarily for A Christmas Story! :)

If U're looking for a new book to read, feel free to check out My collection of love letters titled - Dear Love: Diary of a Man's Desire. I wrote it under My pseudonym, Alejandro & the link to it is on My blog.

    Take care,
