Music is such an important part of my life I can't live without it. I like everything, from El Concierto de Aranjuez, to reaggeaton, to Coldplay, to Luis Miguel. Arabic instrumental music, Irish reels, African lullabies. They all speak to me and paint images in my mind.
Unless you were living under a rock twenty-five years ago (or you weren't even born and then stayed isolated from civilization), you might know the song We Are The World immortalized by Michael Jackson. There are two amazing new versions going around in youtube and being played in radio stations. The English version is almost perfection because Enrique Iglesias sings a line...swoon...
But here it is, judge for yourself and then please continue to the end of the post:
But the other version tugs at my heart even though Enrique doesn't sing in it. A lot of Spanish speaking artists from all over the world got together to record the Spanish version of We Are The World. My favorite part is the end. I'm not a Pitbull fan, but his part in the song is very poignant and emotive. And Daddy Yankee? No words can describe what that man can do with his music.
